If you want the print to show when you fold the top edge back over a comforter, start with the printed face down, toward the fitted sheet. Folding that edge toward the foot of the bed brings the printed face into view. If you use the flat sheet as the visible top layer without a fold-back, you may prefer the print facing up.
The easiest way to decide is to preview the fold before tucking anything in. This guide is for an adult bed and focuses on how the finished bed looks. It does not assume that every printed sheet has a plain reverse or a particular kind of hem.

First identify the flat sheet
A flat sheet is the loose rectangle with straight edges. A fitted sheet has shaped, elasticized corners that wrap around the mattress. For this method, put the fitted sheet on first, then work with the separate flat sheet above it.
Viviland’s Warm Rust Blossom Queen sheet set lists one 60 × 80-inch fitted sheet, one 90 × 102-inch flat sheet and two 20 × 30-inch pillowcases. The flat sheet is the piece you will turn back. The set’s contents do not list a comforter, and a styled product photograph should not be read as a complete packing list.
Preview the fold before making the bed
Place the flat sheet so the face you want to display is down. Keep the top edge near the head of the bed. Lay your comforter over the sheet, leaving some sheet extending beyond its top edge. Turn that exposed portion down over the comforter, toward the foot. You should now see the face you wanted on the folded band.
This is also the approach described in The White Company’s bed-making guide. The diagram below shows the change of face, rather than a particular Viviland print or a fixed fold depth.

Before finishing, stand where you normally see the bed. Try a narrower or wider fold and choose the amount of pattern you like. Then center the sheet, check the fabric available at the foot, and tuck it only as much as you prefer.
Check the face and the direction separately
“Which face is showing?” and “Which way does the motif point?” are two different questions. A sheet can show the printed face while a directional design looks upside down from your chosen viewing position.
If your sheet has clearly directional flowers, animals or lettering, test the fold with that design in view. If the result looks wrong, unfold it and try the other end at the head of the bed. Recheck both the motif and any decorative hem before tucking. There is no need to infer the intended top edge from a small product thumbnail.

The Warm Rust Blossom gallery shows the floral design, but its listing does not specify a rule for the flat sheet’s print direction or document both faces of that sheet. Check the piece you receive rather than assuming its reverse looks like the schematic.
Fix the result you actually see
The folded band looks paler than expected. Open the fold and compare the two faces in the same light. If the other face is the one you want visible, turn the sheet over and test again. A paler appearance alone does not establish a product defect.
The pattern looks upside down. Keep the preferred face in mind, then test the opposite end at the head. Check the folded result, not just the sheet spread flat.
The fold uses too much length. Reduce the turn-back or move the comforter’s top edge. Check that you still have the coverage and foot-end tuck you want. The orientation method does not add fabric to a sheet.
You prefer an unfolded top sheet. Place the face you enjoy looking at upward. A fold-back is an optional styling choice, so you do not have to build your bed around it.
Choose a set after checking the pieces
If you like the floral look shown here, explore the Warm Rust Blossom sheet set. The Queen option was available when checked on October 11, 2026; availability can change. Confirm your selected size and its itemized contents before ordering.
Already have a printed sheet? Try the fold with that one first. For a different question, our comforter set contents guide explains which bed layers a package may include. Getting the face of the flat sheet right is a small finishing step you can test without buying anything.
